About

OceansCoast simply loves flying the sim. Learning the sim at age 70 was challenging, but was definitely worth it! There are great YouTubers and forums to help get you in the air. The best experience is when you start adding sim hardware and build out your cockpit. Just talking with other simmers can make all the difference in preventing a frustrating early experience, and giving up on the hobby.

What Inspired me to learn to fly the sim after 45 years in the tech industry and recently retiring? Our family lived in Texas and my first job began at NASA in 1976. It has always been a vivid memory being part of the Shuttle program and flight in general. When I started learning the sim I did this tribute video. The Space Shuttle’s First Flight was STS-1. The first mission of the space transport system (STS-1) or Space Shuttle, flew on April 12, 1981.
